Born and raised in Hong Kong, Alexander Yen began at the University of Oxford as an undergraduate in History and Politics in 2016. His interest in Chinese history and politics so nurtured, he returned for an MPhil in International Relations in 2019 and is currently a doctoral student. His research lies mainly in the realm of diplomacy, where his focus is on diplomatic language at the United Nations with a especial focus on rising powers, and the People's Republic of China in particular. He retains a lively interest in other aspects of China's relationship with the foreign world, and looks to extend his efforts in this direction.
