Jokin de Carlos Sola is a recent graduate of Leiden University. He holds a Master of Science in International Politics and another in Intelligence and National Security. Before that, he earned his bachelor's in international relations at the University of Navarra, graduating with honours and a thesis analysing the policy risks of the foreign policy of the Republic of Korea. He also took a minor in politics and business management at the Mannheim Business School in Germany. He counts on short experiences in other German and Dutch Universities, as well as in Washington DC and Shanghai. Mr de Carlos Sola has worked in a series of Think Tanks and publishing outlets, from the Centre of Global Affairs and Strategic Studies in Spain to the JASON Institute of the Hague as well as being a frequent contributor to the European Correspondent. He also worked in Brussels for the lobby of the European railway sector. His interest mainly lay in the development of European strategic autonomy, especially in the field of security and defence as well as the general development of Relationships between the EU and the ASEAN.
