Colonel Dr. Johann Schmid is a Bundeswehr officer and political scientist. He joined in 1989 as an officer candidate, studied political and social sciences at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, and held various national and international leadership roles, including NATO (USA) and Kosovo (1999). He earned a PhD in 2009 on Clausewitz. He worked at IFSH (2010-2014), BMVg (2014-2018), Hybrid CoE (2018-2021), and since 2022 researches hybrid warfare at ZMSBw.
