About EPIS

What does EPIS stand for?

EPIS (short for the ancient Greek ἐπιστήμη epistḗmē) stands for "insight, knowledge, ability, science."

How to contact EPIS a non-member?

Reach out to External Affairs - unless you seek to become a member. Then we recommend using our application forms.

Can I make a suggestion?

Of course EPIS encourages initiative! Do you want to interview someone? Have an idea for a new format? Want to take on responsibility? Contact Chiara Postinghel or Julius Kurek.

What is an EPIS Resort?

The EPIS Thinktank is divided into various EPIS Resorts: EPIS Formats, EPIS Working Groups, and EPIS Report Groups. Each Resort consists of multiple subgroups. You can join them by contacting Chiara or Julius.

How can I publish texts?

If you join of an Group in an EPIS Resort, you can publish a text. The respective EPIS Resort Leader will reach out to you and guide you though the process.

Where can I get involved?

As an EPIS Fellow, you can contribute to any EPIS Resort.

Are there regular meetings I have to attend?

No, there are no recurring endless online meetings. Our processes are structured and communication is directly person-to-person.

What does EPIS Network do?

After becoming an EPIS Network Fellow, you have access to internal information, the EPIS Internship Market and the EPIS CV Check. You can apply for EPIS Delegations and the EPIS Thinktank. No duties.

What does the EPIS Thinktank do?

As a thinktank, we are active in four areas: 1. Publishing texts by our EPIS Felows, 2. Networking with experts, 3. Sending EPIS Felows to conferences, 4. Collaborating with stakeholders. No duties.

What does the EPIS Consultancy do?

By personal invitation only you can become an Associate Fellow. In this position, you would consult on foreign and security policies.
